Racks, rails and shallow shelves on the back of the pantry door, adding extra storage for spices, bags, wraps and small cans.
The back of a pantry door is some of the best storage you are not using. A door-mounted rack can hold dozens of spices, rolls of foil and wrap, snack bags and small cans, which frees up shelf space for larger items. In Nashville homes where every inch of kitchen storage counts, adding racks to the door is one of the simplest and most effective upgrades you can make.
We choose racks that fit your door and your items. Some hang over the top of the door, while others mount directly through the door or into the frame for a stronger hold. We check the clearance between the door and the shelves, so nothing bumps when the door closes. Racks come in wire, wood and metal, in finishes that match the pantry, and can be arranged in tiers of different depths to fit tall bottles at the bottom and shallow jars at the top.
A standard door has several square feet of unused surface on its inside face.
Racks must clear the shelves when the door swings shut, so we measure depth carefully before installing.
Heavier racks fasten through the door or into the frame to carry more weight than an over-the-door hook.
Deep rows at the bottom hold bottles and bags, and shallow rows at the top hold jars and spices.

Most doors can, but thin hollow doors may need special mounting. We check first.
Not if we measure clearance first.
It depends on the mounting. We choose hardware for your loads.
